George de Kam is professor of Housing and Land Markets at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences of the University of Groningen. His research focus is on local / area specific arrangements for ageing in place, such as Integrated Service Areas (ISA’s). In a large evaluative study, commissioned by the Dutch research council ZonMW (2012) he found several positive effects of living in such an area.
