Lasse Kannas is a Dean and Professor of Health Education at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. The main interests of his research have been health behaviours,school experiences and health literacy among school-aged children, teaching and learning in the school context as well as in sport clubs. Professor Kannas was a co-founder of internationally well-known Health Behaviour among School-Aged Children (HBSC) Study. In Finland he has played a key role in developing a unique stand alone school subject health education and related research, teacher education and health education textbooks.
