NVTL Workshop: Searching for the extraordinary approach
The public space as the integration framework for health
A well-designed public space offers big chances for a healthier lifestyle, but it can help tackle other health-related issues (environment, climate, social and economical dimensions) too. Therefore, we need to start looking at public space as an integration context for health, both in spatial and process terms. It can be developed for specific programmes and target populations and cross-overs between different stakeholders can be organized. Through mediation, planners can establish a much better integration of policy areas. In this workshop, the Dutch society of garden and landscape architects (NVTL) will explore its consequences and will look for unexpected solutions and coalitions that may be more obvious than might be expected.
